Indo-Pak Wars:
The Indo-Pak Wars, of which there have been 3 official, 2 unofficial and multiple smaller conflicts, began first in 1947. Almost all of them, save for the war of 1971, were fought over control of the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The issue still remains with Indian and Pakistani troops having fought contsant battles up until February of 2021, when a lasting ceasefire was signed.
A Small Note:
This list, comprising sources from the 1971 India-Pakistan War is much less detailed and virtually none of these sources are available for free. This is due to two reasons. First being that outside of official army records that are difficult for civilians to access, not many primary sources – such as diaries or letters – from the India-Pakistan Wars have been preserved, published or stored in any way for research or wide dissemination. The other is that veterans of these wars, officers in particular, have noticed this dearth of sources and have begun publishing their diaries of the war and their interviews of other veterans. These accounts have almost all been published in the past 7 years, meaning they are still under copyright and dissemination of free versions would be illegal.
